IUP’s football season is coming to an end soon and the Crimson Hawks will celebrate Senior Day today with a game against the Clarion Golden Eagles at George P. Miller Stadium.
Clarion is 4-5 on the year and on a three-game losing streak, including a 48-14 loss to Slippery Rock last week. The Crimson Hawks, on the other hand, are 6-3 and broke a three-game losing streak with a win against Gannon in Erie last week. IUP has controlled the series against over the last eight years, winning each game since Tortorella took over as head coach in 2017. That stretch includes two shutout victories.
IUP enters the final two weeks of the regular season at No. 8 in the Atlantic Region NPI rankings as the Crimson Hawks continue their postseason push. IUP is looking to make consecutive NCAA playoff appearances for the first time since advancing three straight seasons from 2015-17.
