Four people were recognized for their contributions to the community at last night’s Indiana County Leader’s Circle Awards banquet.
Connie Bence was named the winner of the Athena Award, given to someone for their professional excellence, community service and for assistance to women in their attainment of leadership skills. Bence was overwhelmed when she was given the award.
Ashley Treese was named the Athena Young Professional Award Winner, and was full of emotion when she heard her name announced.
The Male Civic Leader of the Year award was presented to Wayne Obitz, who said he was grateful to two people in his life that made a significant impact.
Jennifer Rairigh was named female civic leader of the year, said she was shocked and humbled that she was nominated in the first place. She also told some stories about her county-wide travels that were eye-opening and heartbreaking.
