At least one person was injured in a three-vehicle crash yesterday in Burrell Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments to the intersection of Old William Penn Highway and Sharps Hill Road at 5:29 PM, along with Citizens’ Ambulance and state police. Black Lick fire officials reported that the crash was a rear-end collision where a sedan collided with a pickup truck. The sedan had heavy front-end damage and was leaking fluid. A second sedan sustained minor damage.
Fire officials were able to confirm one person was injured, but they were not trapped in their vehicle. One of the responding units was sent to IRMC at Chestnut Ridge to set up a landing zone for a Stat Medevac helicopter for the victim, and that person was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Another vehicle accident was reported last night. Indiana County 911 reported that the accident was on Hill Road in Conemaugh Township. The Tunnelton and Saltsburg fire departments were dispatched along with state troopers and Lifestat EMS at 11:26 PM.
Further details on both incidents have not yet been released.
