Summer construction season continues to be quite busy this week with the start tomorrow of a paving project on North 4th Street and Old Route 119 in Indiana Borough and White Township. Crews will be laying new asphalt on North 4th Street to Oakland Avenue between McGregor Avenue/North 4th Street and Old 119 to the Route 110/119 on-ramp. They’ll be milling the road this week and paving it next week. Flaggers will be controlling the flow of traffic, which will be reduced to one lane of travel.
Also this week, the delayed start of the Indiana Borough summer paving program is scheduled to get underway. The paving company is expected to arrive on Friday to begin work on a number of borough streets, including South and Clark Avenues from 6th Street to Maryland Way; Willow, Virginia and Diamond Avenues between 6th and 7th Streets; Maryland Way between South Avenue and Diamond Avenue; Carpenter Avenue between Philadelphia and Church Streets; and Gompers Avenue between 10th and 11th Streets. The rain date for the work to begin will be Monday the 17th.
In addition to the road projects in Indiana, this week’s work schedule includes the start of a gas line replacement project being conducted by Peoples Natural Gas on portions of Church and Grant streets in Homer City starting tomorrow. The company also plans to replace lines on Greely and Wiley streets.
