Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Kid Rock flew in Army Apache helicopters around Washington, D.C., on Monday, weeks after the military faced scrutiny for a similar flight near the singer’s Tennessee home.
Hegseth praised Kid Rock as a strong supporter of U.S. troops and shared a photo of them together. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said the helicopters were part of events tied to the White House’s celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Parnell added that Kid Rock met with service members, filmed videos for upcoming patriotic events, and has pledged a thousand free tickets for troops and veterans at each stop of his tour.
The flights come after an earlier incident in March involving helicopters near Kid Rock’s Nashville estate, which prompted an Army investigation that Hegseth later ended.
