The Grand Ole Opry could be going up for sale.
According to the Tennessean, real estate investment trust Ryman Hospitality Properties is considering selling its majority state in Opry Entertainment Group, which owns the venue. RHP has confirmed that it is “exploring potential opportunities” involving OEG, but the company hasn’t entered any agreements and there are no “assurances that any transaction will occur.”
The company, which currently owns an approximate 70-percent stake in OEG, said it expects to continue playing significant role regardless of any future partnerships.
