Country music legend Violet Hensley is dead at 109-years-old.
In a post on the Leslie, Arkansas Facebook, the small town wrote “it is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ms. Violet Hensley,” adding “she embodied the traditions, craftmanship, and spirit that have made our community the Whittling Capital of America.” The musician passed away on August 7th.
In addition to performing for decades at Missouri’s Silver Dollar city in Branson, Hensley made her Grand Ole Opry debut at 99-years-old in 2016.
